As part of the culminating events of the 2019 Connecticut Guitar Festival, Alturas Duo performs its Vox Americana program with works for viola and guitar by composers writing for the Alturas Duo and its intriguing mix of Western classical and Latin American influences. This concert features the world premiere of Gwyneth Walker’s new work titled Close to Home: Sounds of New England. This piece was commissioned by Alturas Duo specifically for its Vox Americana project with funds from New Music USA.
