Talea is excited to launch a series of public panel discussions this spring on the challenges of equity and inclusion in the creation of music today.
Join us on 2/24 at The Flea for a free immersive performance (Talea iNSIDE Out) followed by our first panel discussion of the year! We’ll be thinking about strategies for engaging and interacting with audiences in new music:
What does effective community engagement look like as it applies to the performance of contemporary music? How can new music utilize creative tools to interact new audiences in a meaningful way?
Please join Talea musicians and staff in conversation with Lauren Ishida, Marcos Balter, and Christopher Gross.
A brief performance portion will explore the intricacies of conversation in duo playing through music by: J.S. Bach, Catherine Lamb, and Iannis Xenakis.
Admission is FREE! Donations for the performance portion are welcomed at the door.
