Can we re-imagine our current society through interdisciplinary art? On TUESDAY, 7PM EST, join this free talk with the creators of “Miraculous Futures” an initiative leveraging virtual tools to decentralize and radically expand creative collaborations.
The outcomes of this workshop will consist of a multitude of stories in the form of digital assets that will live in a future-thinking archive on the internet as well as in physical spaces once humanity can (un)shelter in place.
ASHLEY BACCUS-CLARK is a Molecular and Cellular Biologist and multidisciplinary artist who uses new media and storytelling to explore themes of deep learning, cognition, memory, trauma, and systems of belief.
KLASIEN VAN DE ZANDSCHULP designs story-based and participatory experiences, blending digital/physical and online/offline interactions. Her work explores embodiment, sensory design, rituals, human interaction and radical thoughts around our daily consumption of technology.
LUDI LEIVA is a multidisciplinary artist working primarily as an illustrator and writer. Her work interrogates the way women move through the world and explores themes of memory, diaspora, decolonization, and resilience.
NOTE: Participants in this workshop are invited to participate in a follow-up and sharing seminar on Tuesday, June 30 at 3:30 PM.
These free workshops are part of Next Festival 2020, an expansive month of events celebrating and supporting diverse creative voices. LEARN MORE: https://next-fest.org/2020-season/
