New Music Detroit’s annual contemporary music marathon returns Sept 12-14th! The biggest new music fest in the Midwest spotlights some of the finest forward thinkers of sound from Detroit and beyond.
The marathon continues with Day 2 in the historic Detroit Institute of Arts’ Rivera Courtyard surrounded by the “Detroit Industry”murals of Diego Rivera featuring an all-Mexican new music program –this day is FREE and presented in partnership with the Consulate General of Mexico in Detroit and the Detroit Institute of Arts’ FRIDAY NIGHT LIVE! series. New Music Detroit performs works by Luis Fernando Amaya, Gabriella Ortiz, their commissioned work “Detroit Industry” by Annie Gosfield, and works by guest composer Jorge Sosa
