Stella Sung and the Dayton Performing Arts Alliance

The Dayton Performing Arts Alliance, the nation’s first merged ballet-opera-symphony orchestra, has partnered with composer Stella Sung on a very un-run-of-the-mill residency that began in the summer of 2013 and unfolds over the course of the subsequent three seasons.  Her residency features signature events integrating the three art forms of the Alliance, including but not limited to a chamber work for dance, music for education, a particularly rich collaboration with Dayton Ballet Artistic Director Karen Russo Burke, and a one-act opera featuring an entirely digital set and advanced projection designed with her students at UCF.

Not sure what a digital set is? Take a look at some of her ongoing work from the opera The Red Silk Thread.
