New Music USA awards roughly $1 million dollars annually through three grant programs: Project Grants, Music Alive, and The Impact Fund. Project Grants offer project-specific funding to individuals and organizations. Music Alive supports composer-in-residence positions in orchestras of all sizes. The Impact Fund supports and promotes small, artist-driven ensembles, presenters, and venues in New York City.
NewMusicBox, a multimedia publication from New Music USA, presents artists in their own words and explores the ideas behind a wide scope of adventurous music produced in the United States: concert works, jazz, experimental, contemporary opera, chamber music, and more. A primary source of news and information, our content encompasses conversations with influential figures in new music; insightful articles; breaking news and reports from the field; and engaged community dialog, both on site and through our social media channels.
Counterstream Radio is your online home for exploring the music of America’s composers. Drawing upon New Music USA’s substantial library of recordings, our programming is remarkable for its depth and eclecticism. The station streams influential music of many pedigrees 24 hours a day. Keep listening and discover the sound of music without limits.
New Music Connect
New Music Connect is a flexible and responsive program that brings together major supporters of new music from all over the United States. Through Connect, New Music USA creates opportunities for participants to deepen their level of engagement with new American music. We leverage our relationships to provide customized experiences with new work and creators around the U.S., and offer convenings to exchange knowledge and ideas with other enthusiasts, artists, and professionals in the field. Connect participants are also able to build relationships with artists and support their work through our unique project grants portal.
