i don’t recall [amarcord.2]

(2012)
a multimedia collaboration between Taylan Cihan & Andrew Lucia.

The image, video, and sound components of i don’t recall [amarcord.2] are a study in the arrangement and feedback of visual and aural data. Beginning from a limited set of 3 predetermined images, pixel data is fed back within itself–shifted, compared, and recombined. All of the “material” necessary for this work is present in its initial make-up; what is seen are varied expressions of a finite dataset, a function of rapid re-organization.

Portrais & Signatures

a multimedia collaboration between Taylan Cihan & Andrew Lucia.

Hartell Gallery, Cornell University
January 21–February 21, 2014

Portraits is a collection of iconic material and information. Each moment within the experience is an instant during a process of transformation, one that does not alter the content of the images, but rather reorders their structures.

Portraits operates over a given duration (calibrated to the length of exhibition) on a custom written algorithm whose inputs are a repertoire of iconic images.
