Arlo Shultis is an up and coming percussionist originally from Alton, Illinois. An active performer, Arlo has appeared with the Ann Arbor Symphony Orchestra, the Jackson Symphony Orchestra, and the Alton Symphony Orchestra. At the University of Michigan, Arlo has performed with the University Symphony Band, University Symphony Orchestra, Percussion Ensemble, World Percussion Ensemble, and the Vencedores Samba Bateria. In May 2013, Arlo performed at Lincoln Center with the University of Michigan Men’s Glee Club. In April 2014, Arlo was selected to perform as timpani soloist with the University of Michigan Symphony Band, performing Michael Daugherty’s “Raise the Roof”. Arlo has attended the Alan Abel summer percussion seminar, as well as the Aspen Music Festival on scholarship, where he studied with Tom Stubs and Doug Howard. . Currently a senior at Michigan, Arlo studies with Joseph Gramley, Jonathan Ovalle, Ian Ding, and Joe Becker.
