Christian’s compositions have been described as “jewel-like and fascinating” and “a force to be reckoned with” and have been performed by ensembles including eighth blackbird, The Parker Quartet, The American Composers Orchestra, New York Miniaturist Ensemble, Cuarteto Latinoamericano, The DePaul Wind Symphony and The Pittsburgh Opera. For the past several years Christian’s focus has been experimentation with small-scale electronic compositions, free-jazz and fusion/prog-rock inspired live works.
An all-electronic work, which rambles through ten varying sonorities.
Cave Music, Vol. 1
As the title of the work suggests, this project is inspired by my own long-time hobby of cave exploring in wild, limestone caves around he Capitol Region of New York State, coupled with my own spiritual and philosophical devotions.
WHEEL — for electric quartet.
Performed by Ryan Neitznick (Guitar), Adam Ravitz (Bass), Davis Good (Wurlitzer) and featuring drummer Eric Slick of Dr. Dog, this four-track EP is largely improvised over a series of basic melodic and harmonic structures and ostinatos, composed and produced by Christian Kriegeskotte.
