Cooper WolkenLos Angeles, CA
Cooper Wolken is a composer and multi-instrumentalist living and working in Los Angeles, CA. He has performed and/or recorded in a wide range of styles as an instrumentalist for bands such as Cape and Curtain, Zella Crane, Storytelling Band, Fast Kid Slow Animal, Stoop, SK Kakraba Band, and more. In other bands such as Bird Concerns and Kidi Band (both of which have CDs in production) he contributes as both a composer and a performer. In addition to his role in these groups, Cooper leads his own seven-piece chamber-pop band called Fellow Fellow, for which he writes and arranges all of the music.
Cooper is a deep believer in inter-disciplinary collaboration, and has worked with choreographers, filmmakers, animators, and playwrights. In the recent past he’s performed at venues such as ArtShareLA, REDCAT, Bootleg Theater, The Mint, Harvard & Stone, Los Globos, MorYork Gallery, Hotel Café, and Curve Line Space, among others.
In May 2015, Cooper graduated from CalArts with a BFA in jazz drums, where he had the opportunity to study closely with Joe LaBarbera and Marc Lowenstein.
