Djeff is a bass player/electronic musician/arranger/composer/producer from Sorel, Québec. He studied music at the Conservatoire de Musique et d’Art Dramatique du Québec, McGill University and Collège St-Laurent. He worked as a freelance bass player and music producer during the ‘90s, touring throughout Canada and Europe. Involved in all sorts of musical formations from the pop band Paradox, who released two albums on MCA Records Canada, to Daniel Boucher who released two albums on GSI Musique, amongst others. Djeff has played rock ‘n’ roll, blues, big band, DJ, electronic music, folk and all sorts of eclectic musical genres. In ’95-’96 he was bass player/musical director for Cirque du Soleil’s Alegria in Japan and Hong Kong. In ’97 he was assistant to the composer René Dupéré for Cirque du Soleil.For the last 10 years, Djeff has been living in Las Vegas working for Cirque du Soleil. He became the first ‘electronic musician’ for the company. He’s been part of the creation teams for the shows Zumanity, One Night For One Drop and Criss Angel BeLIEve. He has acted, and still does, as bass player/electronic musician/musical director/arranger/composer for a total of 4000 performances of those shows altogether.He’s been collaborating and composing/producing music for the last three years for Peter Chu and the chuthis. show Nothing Sticks, Touching Drops (performed by the Orlando Ballet), Hidden In Plain Sight (performed by Houston MET Dance), Applauding Trails (performed during the Nederlands Dans Theater Summer Intensive), an untitled piece performed by dance students from Western Michigan University, and a solo piece entitled Love Trailings amongst others.Djeff is currently busy working on future projects with chuthis.,performing in the Criss Angel BeLIEve show, doing electronic music performances, and taking care of his two boys.
