Green Room Artist Development, LLC is a a boutique firm offering Artist Management ideal for emerging ensembles, composers, and those re-balancing  and/or refocusing their efforts. Services include:  Artist Development  and Career Planning, Promotion  (image and publicity) Coordination, Website Development and Maintenance, Tour and Booking Coordination and Support, Recording Project Management, Grant Research/Application Writing, Career Coaching, and Publishing Administration. These services are aimed at assisting one to articulate one’s Artistic Vision and align Business Priority Goals, Identifying Opportunities, Investigating Obstacles, and trying out advance problem solving tools to re-frame and energize the performing artist or composer’s career.

A closet piano and trumpet player, Liz Friedman has an intrinsic passion for creativity, music, and performing arts. With 24+ years experience in arts administration and managing performing artists, Liz brings her zeal for creative collaboration by providing artist development and management services for emerging and professional performers and composers as well as special projects and events.

Based in New York’s Greater Capital Region, Liz has worked with performers and organizations such as flutist Inna Leoni, pianist Rose Chancler, cellist Ruth Berry, Albany Pro Musica, Alturas Duo, Elqui Trio, Four Nations Ensemble, In Praise of Music, harp duo Lilac 94, Glimmerglass Opera, Glimmerglass Festival Orchestra, Tri-Cities Opera, Whitney Ballet Theatre, Cider Mill Playhouse, The Joey Thomas Big Band, and Ricochet Duo. She has also worked with composers Iván Enrique Rodríguez, Philip Spaeth, Rob Ryndak, Susan J. Peters, Christian M.K. Martin, Hilary Tann, and Gwyneth Walker in bringing new works to life. In addition to working with small rural presenters across the nation to Lincoln Center and The Kennedy Center in her work managing touring ensembles, a variety of positions with venues such as The Egg, Proctors, and The Troy Savings Bank Music Hall has given Liz an extremely diverse perspective in arts administration.

Through Green Room Artist Development, LLC, Liz brings focus to the business side of an artist’s life and assisting ensembles to operate as a small business. As tax issues enter into the picture at some point, Liz is a Registered Tax Professional, for which her services are provided through H&R Block. Liz has presented workshops across New York State with the NYSCA/New York Foundation for the Arts Artist as Entrepreneur Bootcamp and co-teaches Nuts, Bolts & Beyond, a seven month long artist entrepreneurship program offered by The Arts Center of the Capital Region.

In between fulfilling duties for her clients and as personal assistant to her Diva Dog, Liz also manages and edits the classical music website HudsonSounds.org as a resource for New York’s Greater Capital, Upper Hudson Valley, and Adirondack Regions, and Southern Vermont and the western Berkshires.

Liz holds a Masters Professional Diploma in Artist Management from Berklee College of Music, an MBA from the University at Albany School of Business, and BA in Theatre with a concentration in Production and Stage Management from Binghamton University. An Interlochen alum, she spent two summers at the National Music Camp in Michigan studying trumpet and music history.
