A recipient of the National Prize of the Arts Grant in Argentina, ever since J.P. Jofre arrived in New York City, he has been repeatedly highlighted by the New York Times. Mr. Jofre has taken his form of contemporary tango to some of the most important venues in Asia, Europe, America and the Caribbean as soloist, composer and arranger. He has collaborated with the Sacramento Philharmonic Orchestra, Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, Paquito D’ Rivera Sextet, Festival of the Americas Symphony Orchestra, Fernando Otero Quintet, Westchester Jazz Orchestra, Symphony Silicon Valley, Frost Studio Jazz Band among many others. Mr. Jofre has also received commissions and he has been part of many festivals such as the prestigious Umbria Jazz Festival, Sudtirol Jazz Festival, Celebrity Series of Boston, American Virtuosi, Bachanalia Taiwan among others. J.P. Jofre’s first CD features 11-times Grammy Winner Paquito D’ Rivera, who recorded “Primavera”, an original composition of Mr. Jofre.
