Julian started his carrer in music production in 2003 when he completed a Bachelor’s program at the University of North Carolina at Asheville with a BS in Music Technology. he took a job at the nationally reknowned Asheville club the Orange Peel as a sound engineer working at both the monitor and front of house position for hundreds of nationally touring acts. After three and half years of live sound experience, he took a job at Echo Mountain Recording as the house assistant. Now the Chief Engineer/Producer, he has worked with a long list of great bands and producers. Some of these include, The Avett Brothers, Band of Horses, Dawes, the Zac Brown Band, Blackberry Smoke, Jaquire King, Eric Serafin, Keith Stegall, Gary Pacoza, Hector Castillo, and Brian Paulson. Some of his recent engineering and production projects include: Chatham County Line’s "Wildwood", Toubab Krewe’s "TK2", Scythian’s "American Shanty", Secret Agent 23 Skidoo’s "Make Believers", and The Broadcast’s "Dodge the Arrow." Experience with both analog and digital recording as well as having a solid live sound background give him a well rounded approach to recording music and growing up in the artist community surrounding The Penland School for Arts and Crafts instilled a down to earth approach to the creative process in him that he brings to his production.
