Kristen Doering is a collaborative pianist based in New York City. She holds a Bachelor of Music degree in solo piano performance from the University of Kansas and a Master of Music degree in collaborative piano from the Juilliard School where she studied with Margo Garrett, Jonathan Feldman and J.J. Penna. She is the Grantmaking Manager and also is the founder of Arts Fusion Initiative, a non-profit organization dedicated to innovative multidisciplinary programming and educational outreach. In addition to her work at New Music USA and ArtsFI, Kristen is the founder of Whole Note Music Studio, a piano studio in Brooklyn committed to holistic learning through the study of music.
In August of 2015 a group of performing-artists with backgrounds at the Juilliard School in New York were embedded at Garden City High School. The artists would work with the students in workshops, masterclasses, private instruction and rehearsal to give them a closer understanding of the performing arts.
