My Awarded Projects
Laurie KilgoreMonticello, NY
Painting is my passion. It’s what drives and motivates me. My love for Art started at a young age, but I did not fully pursue my passion until my early 20’s. I have been painting and creating works of Art for the past twenty years. Born and raised in Monticello, NY, I’ve been an active artist, painter and art educator in my beloved Sullivan County. I graduated with her B.S. in Art Education and her Masters in Studio Art with a focus in Painting from SUNY New Paltz.
Over the years I have participated in several group exhibitions. They include the Thesis Show Ten, in Poughkeepsie, Roark’s Tavern in Monticello, Art Among the Vines at Basha Kill Vineyard in Wurtsboro, NY. This past year, as in years prior, I have displayed my work at group shows through the Catskill Art Society in Livingston Manor and Tivolli Artists Gallery Co-Op in Tivolli, NY. I had my first solo show of my Basha Kill Series Paitnings at Rolling River Café this past summer in Parksville, NY., and will have my work displayed at Aroma Thyme Bistro in Ellenville, NY from April-May, 2018. I have created Public Art Murals throughout parts of Sullivan County, in Hurleyville, Village of Monticello, Town of Thompson and Rock Hill, NY. Several of these murals, signs and outdoor paintings were for Sullivan Renaissance Projects, as well as private businesses, and various community projects. I currently teach Art for the Monticello Central School District and Nesin Cultural Arts, and create various works of Art in my studio, through my business, Kilgore Artistry, in Monticello, NY.
