Lucia RichBronx, NY
Lucia has been moving and dancing for as long as she can remember. She holds an MFA in Lecoq Based Physical Theatre from LISPA (London International School of Performing Arts). Her performances have taken her to venues all over the world, including NYC, London, Berlin, Edinburgh, the South of France, Canada, California, Minnesota, Iowa and Colorado. Most recently, Lucia returned to NYC after touring her original two-woman physical comedy, The Awkward Art of Flying, to theater festivals in the U.S. and Canada with co-creator, Claire Patton.
A life-long devotion to embodiement practices and collaborations of all kinds has led Lucia to study many movement and theatre disciplines, including 5-Rythms dance under the mentorship of Melissa Michaels, Ed.D, and intensive clown, mask and theatre pedagogy with Giovanni Fusetti.
Teaching is a crucial part of Lucia’s life path and she has a deep appreciation for the master teachers who have inspired her along the way. With over a decade of experience designing curriculum to meet the needs of many student populations, her classes cull widely from physical theatre, commedia del ‘arte, clown, contemporary and social dance, puppetry and yoga. Most recently Lucia was a visiting artist at the University of Connecticut, teaching a unit on the traditional commedia del’arte archetypes. Lucia is an RYT certified yoga instructor and currently teaches privately in Riverdale and Manhattan, NY.
