Maia Jasper White
Maia Jasper White is a chamber musician, teacher, orchestral and studio musician, and musical entrepreneur. She is the Executive and Co-Artistic Director of Salastina in Los Angeles. A dedicated teacher, Maia is the Director of Chamber Music at the California Institute of Technology; she also served on the faculties of the Colburn School of Performing Arts and Chapman University’s Hall-Musco School of Music. She is a member of the first violin section of the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra and was a member of the Pacific Symphony for ten years. She twice served as concertmaster of the Crested Butte Music Festival in Colorado. Maia studied English and musicology at Yale and continued her violin studies at USC’s Thornton School of Music and the Paris Conservatory. She has earned certificates through the Center for Nonprofit Management and the League of American Orchestra’s Essentials of Orchestra Management program. She lives in Glendale, California with her husband, composer Philip White, and their toddlers Galen (3) and Naomi (18 months).
