Performance in New York City Electroacoustic Music Festival

Electroacoustic improvisation with voice and self-made instruments: “Lobatus” and “Espongina”. Those instruments belong a series of interfaces I have built that aim to enhance the expressiveness of electronic music performance through a series of specific gestures and new materials.
The project was created to offer an alternative to commercial hardware for electronic music performance, where physical movement is highly restricted by traditional dials and switches. Lobatus and Espongina, by contrast, engage the performer’s whole body.

Participatory performance gathering the city’s seasoned and casual cyclists to perform a symphony for bicycle bells. Riders with bells of different pitches travel through a predetermined route, following a score transmitted from the lead cyclist’s lighted helmet. Through the piece, riders collaborate with each other to generate music that interacts with the soundscape of the area.

Premiered in December 2013 with the support of MAKE MUSIC NY. Also performed in Houston, Dublin, and Santiago de Chile.

Audible Crossed Geographies: N 40° 43.37′ W 73° 57.01′ – N 42° 46.33′ W 0° 20.93′

Audible Crossed Geographies is an ongoing series of soundpieces sonically merging my steps as they navigate two locations that couldn’t otherwise coexist.
Over the past ten years, I have recorded and collected the sound of my footsteps crossing different territories where I have lived and travelled. In these pieces, the cartography of my step is used as an imaginary acoustic bridge and as a performative act, creating dialogue between the acoustics of the environments I cross and my subjective consciousness and personal sounds.
