Michelle Stern is a NYC-based producer of theater, site-specific art events, and large-scale special events.
She was the co-founder and producer of the groundbreaking performance and visual art company GAle GAtes et al. Michelle managed the company from it’s inception, and co-produced or produced all of it’s theatrical works. She took the company to Hakushu, Japan, and Chiang Mai and Bangkok, Thailand to perform.
In New York City, GAle GAtes occupied vast numbers of square feet in empty financial district office buildings during the mid-nineties, then pioneered the DUMBO arts district, presenting their own original works as well as a robust visual and performing arts presenting program in their 40,000 square foot space on Main Street.
After winding down GAle GAtes in 2003, Michelle jumped into the commercial production world, working for leading agencies Dalzell Productions, MKG, Level Productions, and Good Sense & Company. Under the auspices of these agencies, she produced signature events for The Fragrance Foundation (FiFi Awards, 1000+ black tie sit down dinner and awards show), The Steve Nash Foundation (Showdown in Chinatown, charity soccer game featuring professional soccer stars and NBA players), The Children’s Defense Fund (dinner + awards show), plus many, many parties, sponsor activations, conferences, art events, fundraisers, concerts, product launches and red carpets.
In addition to working on the devlepment of WOW, Michelle is the producer of The Ascent, the world’s first mind-controlled flying experience/game, and is the COO of its parent company, Mindride.
