Orlando Philharmonic OrchestraOrlando, FL
The Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra, led by Music Director Eric Jacobsen, seeks to enrich and inspire the diverse communities of Central Florida through the transformative power of live music. Since its creation in 1993, the Orlando Philharmonic has attracted accomplished musicians recruited from around the world and grown to become the region’s premier professional orchestra.
The Orlando Philharmonic’s extraordinary symphonic performances, stimulating educational programs, and widespread community outreach impact more than 180,000 Central Florida residents and visitors annually. In addition to our annual Season of Classics, Pops, and Chamber concerts, the Orlando Philharmonic hosts a number of free outdoor concerts annually, entertains patients and families at local hospitals, and performs with the Orlando Ballet, Opera Orlando, and the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts. The Orlando Philharmonic has a strong commitment to the Central Florida community and reaches more than 65,000 children and families each year through its education and community engagement programs.
The Orlando Philharmonic has been fortunate to partner with incredibly talented and highly acclaimed composers to create and perform exciting new pieces. Our commitment to new music has continued to grow stronger under the leadership of Music Director Eric Jacobsen, who is currently in his fifth Season. The Orlando Philharmonic has a particular interest in works that reflect the diverse stories and needs of our Central Florida community. These works are often coupled with education and community engagement programs that heighten community connection to and understanding of the piece.
