Peridance Contemporary Dance Company is committed to leadership and creative collaboration in both dance performance and dance education. This video gives a brief history and profile of the company and explores Artistic Director Igal Perry’s newest work-in-progress, Dia-Mono-Logues, which will premiere in New York City on March 11, 2017 at the Salvatore Capezio Theater. Original composition is by Ofer Bashan.
After Lazarus, choreographed by Charlotta Öfverholm, made its world premiere in Peridance’s March 2016 Spring Season. Music includes selections from artists Adel Andersson, David Bowie, and Alvina Lanselle.
Inspired by the music’s audible silence and suspense, this work moves the dancers gradually – and at times abruptly – into a web of oscillating extremes, highlighting the differences as well as the utmost correlation between loudness and its nemesis: silence. Music is by Vladimir Martynov.
