Peridot DuoBoston, MA
Peridot [‘pƐ-rI-dƆt] is a contemporary vocal duo, comprised of sopranos Rose Hegele and Stephanie Lamprea. Their name is inspired by the gem, Peridot – a lime green stone made from volcanic ash, symbolizing the renewal of nature and used in healing of the body and as protector from nightmares.
As a duo, Peridot seeks to
– use creative programming to highlight challenging and alternative methods to vocal chamber music
– commission works from upcoming composers
– act as artist-citizens through the advocacy of aesthetics that are underrepresented in the community.
Peridot has performed at Gallery 263, the Lilypad Inman, Arts at the Armory, Cornelia Street Cafe, and Clark University. Their performance will be featured on Aaron Jay Myer’s upcoming album. They are rounding their second concert season with winners from their Call For Scores contest and commissions by Marti Epstein, Stefanie Lubkowski, and Zach Sheets.
It should be known that both Rose and Stephanie have perfect pitch (!) and relish the trickery and playful challenges of new works – with no pitch references required ;-)
