Roland Burks-bass baritone, is a award winning veteran of the stage. He has performed numerous leading and supporting principal roles in opera, oratorio, musical theater, and concert both here and abroad, with such companies as New York City Opera, Houston Grand Opera, Tulsa Opera, Anchorage Opera, Tri-Cities Opera, Connecticut Opera, Knoxville Opera, El Paso Opera, Augusta Opera, San Antonio Opera, Pittsburg Opera Theater, Center for Contemporary Opera-NYC, Encompass New Opera Theater-NYC, Phoenix Symphony, Mercury Opera-Edmonton Canada, International Opera Theater-Umbria Italy, and Teatro Real-Madrid Spain to name a few, in such great roles as Sweeney in Sondheim’s “Sweeney Todd”, Frank Maurrant in Weill’s “Street Scene, Tonio in Leoncavallo’s “Pagliacci”, Four Villains in Offenbach’s “Tales of Hoffman”, and Baron Scarpia in Puccini’s masterpiece “Tosca”.
