Yuta Tanaka SoundQueens, NY
Yuta Tanaka, born and raised in Japan, is a composer with a background in jazz and Western Classical music. He seeks to indulge in crafting music he loves. He recently graduated from Aaron Copland School of Music with MA in composition, where he has earned multiple awards including George Perle Award. While pursuing the degree, he studied with Dr. Bruce Saylor and served as vice president of Queens College New Music Group. Since then he has been premiering his works constantly with the group. In 2019 he held a fellowship at Talis Music Festival at Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, where he had a premiere of a chamber piece. He is also an active double bass player at classical and jazz venues in the New York City area and Japan.
