Overview

Fellow Fellow, a chamber-pop band led by composer Cooper Wolken, seeks funding to finish their debut album that was recently recorded at Kingsize Soundlabs. The band will collaborate with Theo Karon, who engineered the recordings, in mixing and mastering the eight songs. These recordings are in demand and they have a future. Here’s why:

In April 2015, the seven-piece band was part of an inter-disciplinary collaboration with Jordan Saenz, a choreographer and dancer. They created an immersive and interactive dance-theater show that premiered at ArtShareLA. Inspired by cabaret-style storytelling, “The Traveler” was a back and forth between monologues—written by Wolken and delivered by actor Jacob Gibson—and choreographic vignettes danced to the live music of Fellow Fellow.

Post-show, attendees asked where they could buy the songs from the performance, and to their disappointment there were not yet recordings available. With the album finished (and released with the same title, “The Traveler”) those who were at the show will be able to find and own that music.

The finished CD will also act as a means to give this collaboration a future, as the collaborators are planning to re-produce the show again soon—this time with the music available for purchase right there at the venue.
